While the ASUS B250 Mining Expert was designed to support up to 19 GPUs with triple 24-pin power connectors, the MOLEN B250 offers a more streamlined and cost-effective solution for 12-GPU configurations. The MOLEN board features:

• 12 PCIe slots (1× x16, 11× x1) vs. ASUS’s 19 slots

• Dual 4-pin auxiliary power for stable multi-GPU operation

• Smaller footprint while still maintaining ATX form factor

For most mining operations, 12 GPUs per motherboard represents an optimal balance between density and simplicity, avoiding the driver limitations and power complexity associated with larger configurations.

The MOLEN B250 features 12 PCIe slots (1× PCIe x16 and 11× PCIe x1). To connect 12 GPUs, you will need:

• PCIe riser cables (USB 3.0 type) to connect each GPU to the PCIe slots

• An open-air mining frame with rails to mount the GPUs

• Adequate spacing between GPUs for airflow

• A power supply with sufficient PCIe power connectors for all 12 GPUs

The innovative design converts PCIe x1 slots to USB 3.0 interfaces, reducing signal attenuation for more stable long-term operation.

The MOLEN B250 supports 6th and 7th generation Intel Core processors, as well as Pentium and Celeron CPUs in the LGA1151 package . For mining purposes, a basic Celeron processor (such as the G3900 or G3930) is sufficient, as mining does not require significant CPU power. The B250 chipset provides onboard graphics support (HD Graphics), so a dedicated GPU for display output is not required.

Power requirements depend on the specific GPUs used. For a full 12-GPU configuration:
